Breitbart.com Conspiracy Theory Watch: Liberty Chick’s ‘Planted Comments’ Investigation
When Andrew Breitbart was alive, and I’d post one of those long lists of quotes from his sites full of raving racist insanity, he knew how to respond — by accusing me of planting all of them myself. He’d repeat this claim over and over on Twitter, apparently hoping that his dim-witted followers would accept it at face value without thinking too much about it. And of course, most of them did.
In a way, it’s flattering that Breitbart seemed to think I was such an evil genius that I could do all these things at once: run LGF and post articles and comments there, write the code for the site, eat and sleep and do other human-type things, and yet still find time to post thousands and thousands of racist comments at breitbart.com and other sites every day, all with different account names and different writing styles. And then, since many of these comments also received numerous “likes,” I was presumably also clicking the “like” buttons with still more stealth accounts.
Last January, this conspiracy theory took a new turn, when breitbart.com “Investigative Writer/Researcher” Mandy Nagy (aka @Liberty_Chick on Twitter) informed me that she was preparing to rip the lid off the plot, with a devastating exposé showing exactly who was planting all these comments and why.
Here are some of @Liberty_Chick’s tweets, promising to soon reveal the results of her investigation:
Seems @Lizardoid has knack for plucking out our trolls before we block. How DOES he find so quickly? twitter.com/#!/Lizardoid/s… @andrewbreitbart

@MadStJack @andrewbreitbart @EdMorrissey ding ding ding!!I’ve been notified of several habitual troll-senders. Exposure time, coming soon.

.@Lizardoid @andrewbreitbart Hey, I’m the one who’s been pouring through IPs & old comment boards for weeks. That’s no show.
— Mandy Nagy (@Liberty_Chick) January 22, 2012
.@Lizardoid @andrewbreitbart Nope, I don’t. Because I’m actually looking at what they’re doing & how they’re doing it.
— Mandy Nagy (@Liberty_Chick) January 22, 2012
.@Lizardoid @andrewbreitbart You’re right, it is easy to check. Then I expect you’ll condemn the tactic when I post it…
— Mandy Nagy (@Liberty_Chick) January 22, 2012
When I offered to send Ms Nagy my IP address, so she could either rule me out or definitively prove my nefarious evilness, and asked her to let me know when she released her report, she responded:
.@Lizardoid @stlactivisthub Your maturity level is astounding. I never cared to pay you much attn. Now I know why. I wasn’t missing much.
— Mandy Nagy (@Liberty_Chick) January 22, 2012
Uh, OK.
But notice the date on these tweets: January 21, 2012. That’s more than two months ago. I know a lot has been happening since then, but I have to wonder … when is this devastating exposé going to appear? I was really looking forward to this BOMBSHELL EXCLUSIVE.
I mean … @Liberty_Chick couldn’t have been lying about investigating and discovering all those planted comments, could she?
It kind of makes her final tweet to me (before blocking me) rather ironic, don’t you think?
.@stlactivisthub @Lizardoid Right, because not posting evidence & research is soooo what I’m known for
. I see I’ve struck a nerve. — Mandy Nagy (@Liberty_Chick) January 22, 2012
Meanwhile, all of the sickening racist comments I pointed out yesterday in this article are still visible at breitbart.com.
At least Andrew Breitbart had the sense to go ahead and delete comments like that, even as he pretended they were all planted. The heirs to his throne seem to have no problem with them at all.
