ambulance abuse

Somebody tried to blow up a train today in Israel. It might have been Palestinians.

JERUSALEM - A bomb exploded on a railroad in central Israel as a passenger train passed over it Sunday, damaging one of the carriages, but causing no serious injuries, police said.

The explosion took place just north of the town of Lod, and police said they believed that the charge was planted during the night. A Palestinian was detained for questioning near the site of the explosion, said a security official, speaking on condition of anonymity. But police were not certain that the explosive was planted by Palestinian militants, who have carried out dozens of bombings during the current round of Mideast fighting.

Fred Pruitt notices a little detail buried in this AP story that really should be the headline:

Also in Ramallah, Israeli troops stopped two Palestinian ambulances for a routine check and found 27 people packed inside them, ten of them suspected of involvement in shooting or bombing attacks, a military source said.
