While I’m skeptical about anything that relies upon “sources,” I will say that if Cohen really is prepared to testify, then it’s pretty significant but would be more so if he’s got some form of evidence to back it up. Texts, emails, a recorded conversation, anything that would make this reliant upon more than his sworn testimony would nail Donny’s ass to the wall.

And, we still do not know the extent of him as a message carrier. Remember all the bit about him going to Europe then onto Prague to meet with Russians. Though not totally confirmed…”say’s who” Cohen might have direct knowledge of Russians setting up the meeting. He may have helped coordinate.

But, I’m going with caution. I’m just glad all this stuff is pouring out the last few days. Sure it is hard to keep up with it.

But, that is what Mueller and the Feds are doing. Mueller is the guy with the team and staffs that put this together in a pattern and then puts is out to the public in perspective.

I actually said something similar to this to a guy canvassing for the GOP in my neighborhood a few years back. He really didn’t have any comeback. He kinda knew I was right but asked me to keep an open mind anyway.

It’s kinda what’s killing me with all the ‘independents’/conservatives/Republicans these days. The ones with a little bit of conscience left in them know Trump is a monster, but they act like he’s an anomaly, rather than the culmination of 30 years of rot.

I suspect that, when the books are written on this whole scandal, more than one author will devote a few paragraphs to how this might all have been avoided if Donny had the common sense God gave the amoeba and ignored Ivanka’s personal hatred of the man to give Cohen a spot in his admin. Even if he’d stuck him in the bowels of the DOJ hierarchy, he might have been able to exert some sort of leverage over him. Now? I guess that’s the thing: Trump green lighting a massively illegal meeting like this is basically his MO. Everyone fucking knows that’s how he operates: micromanaging to an infinitesimal degree because he believes his own “I’m a suuuuuper genius” bullshit.

On top of that, the dude needs a fucking audience. So it makes sense that he’d do it front of other people besides Cohen. It’s just maddening that this stuff has been going on all this time and it’s supposedly impossible to prove.

The Friday night news dump came a day early. Cohen’s claiming Trump knew the details of the Russia meeting and was intimately aware of the details.

This is accurate, and there’s every reason to believe Cohen on this.

Why?

Remember when there were questions about who wrote the letter Junior posted about the meeting details, and everyone in Trumpworld lied until it became known Donny was the one who wrote it for his idiot son (no, not the other one).

Trump knew every aspect of his business. He’s not leaving this up to his kids. He wants to know all aspects of his business - and most certainly the meeting was about his business (both winning the presidency and how it benefits him personally). Lifting the Maginsky act would be profitable for him personally.

As much as Trump doesn’t give a crap about how government functions, he’s quite aware of all aspects of his own criminal syndicate.

Exactly my thinking. Trump is a useful tool, while they have him. Ultimately, though, he’s expendable - a trophy, a point of pride, “we hacked the Presidency of the United States,” but at the end of the day, the real coup is that they installed countless real agents in positions all up and down the government ladder.

Yep, they still control the Republican Party from top to bottom, along with the conspiracy industry and many other subversive agents. This is going to be a long, hard pull.

That was actually my first thought, that this leak was not intended to hurt Donny, but instead make it harder for Cohen to back out of any potential/ongoing negotiations with Mueller’s team. Avenatti suggested the other night that Davis releasing the tapes was Cohen trying to send up a flare to Donny for an immediate pardon or promise of a pardon. This might be an attempt to cut off that escape route by creating the impression in Donny’s head that Cohen is already turning evidence and thus has gone from an asset to the liability.

Just a factoid to share from Australia, one of those countries with “socialist” medical care.

Australia is on track to eradicate Hep C by 2030, as Medicare and PBS fully funds each sufferer with a DAA treatment that has a 95% cure rate.

For $38.50, less for concessions holders, every adult with Hep C qualifies, regardless of the stage of their disease. Prisoners and drug users are being especially targeted - world wide Hep C infection rates in prisons runs at around @20% - growing numbers of Australian prisons are seeing these rates fall dramatically, and to zero % in some.

Personally, my guess is the leak came from the US Attorney’s office.

- Rudy’s dumber than a fence post, but even he could see how utterly stupid it would be to create such a leak without solid evidence that Cohen’s a liar.

- Davis is a slimeball, but this in no way helps his client if the aim is for a pardon or a plea deal.

- And Mueller has run such a tight ship since last year that the idea he would burn his trump card (pun intended) now makes no sense whatsoever.

But the guys who presently have Mikey’s balls in a vice, and would benefit most from his turning from uncooperative suspect into cooperating witness? Out of whose office the case building against him for various crimes in city/state/federal crimes is running? Makes total sense.

Couple of things:

1. Timing for this release? Uh huh.
2. The US Air Force was in North Korea? Isn’t that kind of unusual?
3. I thought they announced that they already had a bunch of remains back.
4. Notice—no numbers, no verification—just a “look how great the yam and Rocket Man are getting along and getting things done.”

I don’t buy any of it.

Quick edit—now they’re saying 55 cases of remains.
Wonder who’s going to do the testing to make sure it’s who/what they all say they are.

Someone told me, “Watch ‘The 100’ on Netflix, it’s great, you’ll love it.”

So I started watching. And you know what, it has a few decent moments, but overall, very lame and bad. Not recommended.

I tried it out, too. Didn’t grab me. I tried the TV adaptation of 12 Monkeys, too. Same reaction. Neither of them is awful, but neither got me so engrossed that I *had* to keep watching them.

I just finished Luke Cage, season 2. Now *that* was engrossing. Except for the guest appearance by Iron Fist in episode 10. Finn Jones’ acting abilities have not improved much; he reminds me of some college student in acting class who’s still not sure how to play his character. It may be that he pales (heh heh) in comparison to the other actors in the show, like Alfre Woodard (dayum!) and Mike Colter.

Yes, Luke Cage S2 was really good. The Netflix Marvel adaptations are all worth watching - much more than most of the big-screen Marvel movies.

I really hope next season they do the story arc from the comics where Cage invades Latvernia because Dr. Doom owes him $200.

You know, I’d like just one reporter to ask the question that would send Rudy into a catatonic state: “If nothing at all incriminating occurred at this meeting, as both you and your client insist, then why all the effort to cover it up?”

But this may be an opportunity for them to have a Reichstag fire or something of similar magnitude as a distraction and excuse.

Lest we forget, Trump has already offered this bit of confirmation that he knew about the meeting ahead of time. Two days before the meeting, he said:

“I am going to give a major speech on probably Monday of next week and we’re going to be discussing all of the things that have taken place with the Clintons, I think you’re going to find it very informative and very, very interesting.”

Yes, Luke Cage S2 was really good. The Netflix Marvel adaptations are all worth watching - much more than most of the big-screen Marvel movies.

The movies are more into spectacle and the Avengers series more into cramming as many heroes into one flick as possible. But, on that level, they have done a better job than the DC movies, with the exception of Wonder Woman. I’m hoping the Aquaman flick will not be a total bust, but the previews have not inspired my confidence.

The series, OTOH, are more character-driven, and those characters develop over the run of the show.

The movies are comic books, while the series are graphic novels, if you will.

Yep……..they’re gonna make Donny, Jr. the fall guy.

And Donny Jr will once again remember how his father treated him in the past, the womanizing that split his mother away from the family and all the times Big Donny shafted junior out of bucks, etc.

And then Donny blows Big Don out of the water thus destroying the whole Trump Family.

The End.

(One can hope…but for sure if they start to turn on each other things will get very interesting and there might not be enough popcorn in the world)
