I just got back from a three hour shopping trip and all I can say is fuck most of the assholes who live around here. This is the longest I have spent shopping in two years, JFC are people stupid and awful.

First stop Walmart. Haven’t been there since before the pandemic, now I remember why. I needed some clothing for myself and looked for some groceries that Kroger is often out of. Not a mask to be seen, including employees. Except the lady at the front door, that is it. I do not get parents who have little kids and bigger ones who don’t bother with masks or from the looks of some of them even hand washing.

Then to Kroger. A little better with the mask thing, but these dumb ass women who think it’s so, so clever to lean in right in front of me with no mask and a fake smile with “oh, excuse me!” and one with a “what’s with the mask?”with an added giggle after. Oh gee shitmuffin, I don’t know , it’s a mystery, truly. Assholes.

Never again on a weekend, nope. I’ll go back to shopping at 7 am during the week. JFC.

I feel for you. I had to get a new BP cuff yesterday at the local WalMart. Pretty much the same. Fucking covidiots everywhere in the store and social distancing was a fucking joke. Fortunately, I didn’t run into ant assholes like you did. I also paid for it at the pharmacy and left by the nearest door just so I could get the fuck out of there fast.

I’m lucky to live where everyone wears a mask in the store. Hell, walking the dog this morning I passed people on the bike path wearing masks. I don’t wear one when I’m outdoors because I consider open air with a little breeze to be low risk. Granted, everyone gives as much room to those they pass as is reasonable. When Milo saw Bo and Kalua their two people and I all stood at the ends of our respective leashes and let them sniff butts. But when I see their moms at the store they are masked as I am.

Stopped clock, blind squirrel/nut. Either way this is a surprise.

Republican Sen. Graham heaps praise on fellow South Carolinian and potential Supreme Court nominee J. Michelle Childs

“Graham, who agreed that Childs’ educational background would benefit the court, refuted arguments from fellow Republicans that Biden is unfairly imposing race and gender criteria on his nomination. He defended Childs as “highly qualified” and cited Republican President Ronald Reagan’s nomination of Sandra Day O’Connor as precedent for making nominations based partly on demographic criteria.”

Only wrt Lindsay he could be trying to undermine Biden’s assumed first choice.
In the only credible way he’s got.
But its weak sauce cause nothing’s been announced so he couldn’t reality claim he did anything.

Clyburn s of course another story.
Biden made the deal for a black woman not a specific one.
If Clyburn forced it that’s moving th goalposts and not what they agreed to

Interesting. I was just reading about how opium sales to China built Boston. One of the main families, the Perkins family apparently started in the slave trade but switched to China when that showed greater profits. FDR’s grandfather, Warren Delano, made his initial fortunes in opium as well. Then they invested in mills and mines and such.

I wish to gawd that our useless media would book these assholes on tv and then ask them for specific details of their plan to help the majority of Americans have clean water and the infrastructure to get it to faucets, updating and maintaining the power grid as well as roads and bridges, updating and modernizing schools, making sure Americans get not only emergency care but also preventative care at affordable costs etc. And hammer the shit out of them til they answer. This is a big part of why we’re here, there are people in government who hate government(while stuffing their pockets with cash and favors)and really have no clue what the fuck their job is. They also don’t care to learn. The media is not pointing this out, it’s a problem.

A lot of the protests in front of government buildings might have a greater effect if the same focus of those same large crowds was spending some time annoying the media outlets who are helping us sink. They aren’t scared of us, they should be, it’s up to us to make them uncomfortable. A lot.

Doesn’t money for this stuff go into a fund or get alloted to state level agencies (transportation mostly) to be used as the need arises? It’s mostly on the states to figure out what is needed where and then have plans on place both to fix disasters and maintain and update the rest as needed. I bet a little look see at the states with the worst cared for infrastructure are majority GOP. As we see with vaccines, the lazy and stupid way mostly seems to effect red states.

I don’t know how you can educate people as to how the system can actually work if people got involved and gave a shit. Especially if they aren’t willing to see this country as a community where we are interdependent to some degree. Everything is a fucking competition to win, it’s killing us.

Wow. This 65 inch OLED 4K TV is amazing.

I have a 55” OLED - gorgeous images, especially with Ultra 4K Blu-ray + HDR.

The state, not the Feds, the state.

…and the state did not allocate federal infrastructure funds for its improvement, according to a report.

Why spend money fixing a bridge that was going to fall down before you got around to fixing it anyways? Looks like a prudent allocation of monies to me.

Maybe if Trump passed an infrastructure bill then we could have gotten to it in time?

this game suddenly got interesting. glad I got to it after binge watching most of Ozark over the afternoon. Oh, and I found this place called Wozz Kitchen Creations online because I’m really, really tired of making sandwiches with duke’s mayonaisse and some bullshit, non-inspiring mustard. So this is what I picked up. I like that some of these work well as marinades and side-spreads for fish, pork, steak, etc.

North African Chermoula Dressing, Marinade and Sauce × 1

The only two idiots I’m worried about are Manchin and Sinema when it comes to whoever President Biden nominates. Nothing would surprise me with them. They may decide that they can’t support a qualified Black woman if the vote isn’t bipartisan.

Well at least it’s done steaming.

My parents once lived in a house where the backyard was a pasture.

Their chihuahua used to go out to the pasture and bark at the cows.

Until she staggered home covered with still steaming dung.

She’d still bark at cows. But from a safe distance.

I’d recently thought to myself that it was nice that I didn’t need to get emails supporting anti-black supposedly anti-racism racism from my Libertarian former friend over Biden’s Supreme Court announcement.

I see I have an email on the topic from him in my inbox. Ugh.

if we merely held gun owners to the standards the NRA and the rest claim they’ve set for themselves, they’d self select…

those who controlled their weapon at all times would be fine.
they’d be ignored.
just like the entire country ignores me every time a dui is arrested.

control means control - handling, storing, carrying, transporting, transferring (selling, lending, gifting).

at all times means, at all times.

those who didn’t would lose their freedom, finances and future 2A privileges.

so those who wanted insurance could affordably buy it.
those that didn’t would be bankrupted.
