Excellent Video: John Leguizamo Rips Univision’s “Caca” Trump Interview

Politics • Views: 12,961

Univision had an opportunity to confront Trump on his hardline anti-Latino policies, and instead gave him a glowing review with softball questions. So why is the channel trusted by Latinos pandering to Trump ahead of the 2024 election? John Leguizamo bares it all in this new segment, “In My Opinion.” #DailyShow #Comedy #JohnLeguizamo

Word-game stuff:

Lucked out on Wordle today:

Spelling Bee was a bear, though: 74 words, 462 points, 6 (six!) pangrams. I don’t feel too bad about having to get the last one though a clue…

Let me tell you, he’d have been unamused with the foolishness I was at today. For all those who were meaning well, there were camcorders and photographers and cheaper than it should have been food after lots of pious sounding prayer…

I was rather reminded of Matthew 6:1-2… feh.

Did you ever run the “maximum hot smoke test” on the relay type switches?

No. I worked on the big digital switches. Later I worked on implementing 3G for cell phones.

Before retirement I helped build a cloud based service for business phones.

A Cranky One  Nov 23, 2023 • 6:29:05pm

Just got home from the Thanksgiving celebration. We were at my step son’s house. Food was amazing (he’s a bit of a chef). Smaller celebration this year; illness going around.

Speaking of illness, my kids usually spend Thanksgiving day with my ex’s large family (5 aunts/uncles, tons of cousins) and then we get together on Friday at my older daughter’s house.

It’s always fun, because we bring pizzas and other folks contribute veggie platters, fruit, snacks, etc. Fun part is we can visit and socialize without any trauma of dealing with food, setting up tables, etc. Much more relaxed atmosphere.

But my youngest daughter and her family are ill and my son’s wife just tested positive for covid. So our get together was canceled. Sigh.

Shiplord Kirel: From behind wingnut lines  Nov 23, 2023 • 6:37:47pm

This is one of the best conceits I have ever written, in my own judgement anyway. It was published in the Lubbock Avalanche Journal in 1999.

Swarms of demonically controlled metal monsters invade the streets of the city. They roar and scream and paw the ground, seeking the destruction of every living thing. They compete and jostle and collide, sometimes destroying each other in their reckless lust for human blood.
The toll mounts and the authorities, outnumbered hundreds to one, are helpless to stem the onslaught. The hideous spectacle strikes fear and revulsion into the heart of every rational being.
Those who value their lives take refuge where they can. They huddle in fear, and pray in silent despair for divine intervention to strike the monsters down and end the nightmare.
A new Stephen King novel? A bad science fiction scenario?
Nope, just Lubbock traffic during the Christmas season.

Happy Thanksgiving to all the Lizards! Reading the various and varied menus with interest and in many cases awe. Not a good cook but this is the one day I COOK, with the intention of living on leftovers for the rest of the weekend. All pretty simple traditional stuff, comfort foods with fifty-odd years of doing this mostly from the memory of my grandmother’s recipes. Turkey roasted in Grandma’s spatterware roasting pan, served on the china older than I am.

Nothing in aspic, mind you. The recipes aren’t THAT traditional.

Stuffed and somnolent, grateful for food on the table; for family I actually like; for friends I’ve known for year and friends I’ll never meet but still care about. Thanks, folks, for this corner of the internet.

Don’t know if this has been posted and we all know he’s a grifting leech, so enjoy.

Kyle Rittenhouse Has Lost All His Money, His Lawyer Says

Kyle Rittenhouse has lost his money since he was acquitted over three shootings at a protest in Wisconsin, his criminal defense attorney Mark Richards has said.

The 20-year-old is releasing a book that describes his life as well as the circumstances around his fatal shootings of 36-year-old Joseph Rosenbaum and 26-year-old Anthony Huber in August 2020.

Who would buy this book except right-whinger grift funds?

OK: my offering for the (apparently obligatory) LGF Thanksgiving food post:

Coq au vin with wild rice, leeks and asparagus.
Unexpectedly good this year, since I started the coq with notably smoky bacon, which flavor ended up permeating the bird.
Happy Thanksgiving, all!

We may have stolen some of the turkey. Mrs. Fish bought a cheap but functional three-tray electric food warmer, and filled two of the trays with her vegetarian fried rice. The third tray was left empty for any family members who brought food that needed warming, but had no such device; it wound up getting filled with Mrs. Fish’s mom’s turkey. We brought the device home as-is, including the tray full of pilfered bird meat.

Yeah, but it’s an article of faith on pro-Palestinian/anti-Israeli Tumblr accounts that Joe Biden supports genocide against Palestinians through his support and arming of Israel. That sentiment may extend further than the subset of terminally online tumblristas who have made Hamas their new “Blorbo from their shows.”
