I don’t think it’s even that tricky.

They’ll now ensure that this tech serves the interests of the owership class, so it won’t be “AI” making decisions that hurt people, it will be people training “AI” to make decisions that hurt people.

The argument being made is that the machines must be controlled, and the control must be the kinds of Great Men that facilitated their construction.

They envision man-like machines, and want to keep them as property. They want those machines to facilitate a world of machine-like men, who technically cannot be owned outright, but can be cornered into a level of precarity and desperation that they can be de facto controlled to such a fine degree that they are effectively serfs…except the feudal lords will have deniability when the serfs drop dead
