I don’t want to set anyone off with this take, but honestly, that’s not really the case. Unlike those fields, the people promoting AI have actually stated that this is what they want. Their whole goal for AI is to “improve productivity” (read: use computers to do jobs currently done by people, hence, “want their slaves back”), and as for the sex robots, I think I saw several articles here about LLM-based chat bots that were intended to “provide companionship for lonely men.” While the original poster’s phrasing may have been slightly crude and blunt, I don’t think they’re wrong.

In a narrow sense it’s what computers are.
What word processors are
Spreadsheets
Cad/cam
databases
Other applications..order processing a/r, a/p invoicing inventory, tax,
On and on

Automate the repetitive, remove a lot of error-prone parts. Do the same tasks with less people, faster and with better control, allowing the remaining users to function at a higher level.
