I don’t know about pastors proper, but IIRC in more than one church scandal the people that learned about it and made noise were women laity who did a lot of the care work for the congregation.

This is all patriarchy in the true “rule by fathers” sense.

40 years ago, I had a sense of a shift in rape culture when it started becoming more public that boys and men were being raped by religious men. For some people, it seemed, that was ‘too far’.
