So the lake I caught that big fish at is open after the rains but the water is like chocolate milk, add to that the RV currently floating in one part of the lake and the debris it sounds like a warzone lol. Gotta love so-cal it doesn't rain, it pours.

On a total downer note (sorry), I just took a sandwich to the Princess, who has an all-day practice at the school.
One of her friends is there, hanging out in the "commons" (area with tables and chairs right off the hallway).
This girl doesn't have any reason to be there.
It's just better to hang out in an empty school rather than her home, because of what her home is like.
Sometimes this world makes me cry.

Does "The Princess" get along with the young lady in question? Perhaps an afternoon together every once in awhile would be beneficial
My son knew a boy in grammar school like that. Great kid, once we got to know him. He practically lived here (came over just about every day afrter school to do their homework, hang out, have something to eat before heading home just to go to bed!)

Nobel Peace Prize fail....
Francois Houtart, Belgian Activist Priest, Admits Sexual Abuse
A Belgian priest has confessed to a child sex-abuse accusation that came to light during a campaign to nominate him for the Nobel Peace Prize for his work fighting globalization's impact on developing countries.
...
"Walking through the room of one of the family's boys, I effectively touched his intimate parts twice, which woke him up and frightened him," Houtart is quoted as saying. The committee in November ended its campaign to nominate Houtart for the 2011 Nobel Prize, saying the priest had requested its termination because "his age and his personal projects would not allow him to fully assume the role requested in such circumstances."

Actually, we are currently short of chocolate chip cookies because this last week we ate everything that isn't nailed down.
You should have seen the spread at my cousin's. Imagine a table that will easily sit two on a side, square. It was so full of food that to put out the desserts, we had to take the appetizers off. None of the actual dinner went there, because there was no room.
Not sure why we had appetizers, we arrived at 3 and ate at 4:30.

A few interesting pieces of trivia that came my way this morning:
It takes 7 seconds for food to pass from mouth to stomach. A human hair can hold 3kg. The length of a penis is 3 times the length of the thumb. The femur is as hard as concrete. A woman's heart beats faster then a man's. Women blink 2x as much as men. We use 300 muscles just to keep our balance when we stand. The woman has read this entire text. The man is still looking at his thumb.

Problem for me is that Greenwald personally smeared my reputation, over and over, with outright lies, attributing opinions to me that I did not express and never held, and never once even had the decency to acknowledge when his distortions were factually corrected.
He's a guy who uses sock puppet accounts to leave comments praising himself, and agreeing with his own points.

Beauty and the Beast
Some song from Aladdin
Hallelujah
Give a Little Whistle
Cruella de Ville

I have to admit even I've questioned if the cartoons were worth it. It does seem they've inspired as much terrorist activity as anything else including the invasion of Iraq. Free speech is important, and I'll stand by it. There's no justification for the lunacy and violence the cartoons were met with.
I still think it was a rather petty and stupid idea to have a Mohammed cartoon event to begin with, and it hasn't grown on me just because doing so released a worldwide shitstorm.

re: #188 WindUpBird
I remember playing AD&D 2ed a bit as a kid, but by the time I was 13 or so and gaming a lot, it was all TMNT, Champions, and then later Vampire, Shadowrun, and really by then we were just homebrewing our own weird bullshit :D We went through a lot of Vampire players who wanted to do "drama-club" style role-playing as opposed to the "sit around the table and be detectives and solve the crazy mystery" sort f gaming we did :D
Played TMNT "After the Bomb" setting for a while. Our White Wolf games were usually down and dirty. I always had fun because amongst a group of Ventrue and Tremere, I played a Nosferatu.

Best cure for all that is to sit in a room alone and sing songs from "Cabaret."
I'd rather sit in a room alone drinking cabernet sauvignon... or a nice scotch... to each, their own.

Yep.
My group has too many bards. Why is half of my group bards?!
Stupid 4.0 rules.

Not since making it halfway through that pathetic video from his Texas apartment. Hey... no, no way.
I thought about that too but I don't think geography plays a role in this. The fact that this server raid was in Texas is probably just a coincidence.

After the Bomb was great fun! And yeah, if you played that and grungy vampire games (brujah industrial musician who lived in a junk filled lot and was being stalked by all manner of weremonsters he had pissed off over the years) we could get along :D

I already do that! Though your Cabaret may not be the same as mine

No... and he doesn't sound anything like Jill Haworth.

if half your group is bards, congratulations, you have a D&D garage band. That actually sounds like a riot as a campaign setting. On tour!

Well... those fact are correct. And I will be looking into a "character" to write about in Paris up coming... French songwriter/singer Serge Gainsbourg. He's my possible new target for a play. I'll know better after I get back if I think I have the right "hook" to develop something. So far, I get a weak internal reaction from him and his life... but I don't give up easily.

You could introduce a bard hating enemy to thin out their numbers. I'm thinking along the lines of a wraith version of Frank Rich. :D

You have no idea how much Ventrue hate a Nos with level 5 obfuscate and a penchant for sawed-off shotguns.
"SUPRISE BITCHES!"
Actually, I ran a Whitewolf campaign based on a clan of Nos and Bonegnawers, plus other assorted allies, taking on problems in Los Angeles for a while. We had a blast.

I really still don't know what you are talking about. I've never had any experience with role playing gaming.

"The bard is a standard playable character class in many editions of the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game.[1] The bard class is versatile, capable of combat and of magic (Divine magic in earlier editions, arcane magic in later editions). Bards use their artistic talents to induce magical effects. The class is loosely based on the special magic that music holds in stories such as The Pied Piper of Hamelin, and in earlier versions was much more akin to being a Celtic priest or a Norse Skald, although these elements have largely been removed in later editions. Listed inspirations for bards include Taliesin, Homer, Will Scarlet and Alan-a-Dale."
