I’ve a very strong suspicion that, much like the polling across the pond, a lot polling here assumes that all those who are answering either “Don’t Know” or “Uncommitted” will break for Trump on Election Day. Because I find it really doubtful he can lose 15%+ of the GQP vote in November and expect to make up enough of that in “Independent” votes to break even.

He can’t. If he ends up losing appx. 15% of the GOP voters, not only is he done, but that could possibly hit downballot races as well. The whole thing could end up as a total fiasco for the Republicans.

Of course, it’s not even April, the party conventions haven’t happened yet and most Americans aren’t even really paying attention to politics yet - it’s just us political junkies who are closely following things.
