I think we should strike Article I Section 3 from the Constitution altogether, as well as getting rid of the Electoral College. I’m a radical like that.

Eliminating the senate would require quite a few other changes to the constitution. We would have to ensure that the House could ratify treaties and approve cabinet/judicial appointments. There’d also be a question about how we do impeachments (and if they would become easier to do, what would the ramifications of that be).
