IMO the only reason why gasoline is not currently above $7/gallon from current world events is that raising oil prices will mean much more rapid adoption of EVs.

$7.00/gallon is the current gas price here in Czech Republic (when you factor in standard to metric and currency conversion) and Czechs absolutely loathe EVs.

I attribute a lot of that to the fact that in my neck of the woods, 70% of the population live in apartment units with simply no way to charge an EV. Also, there’s about 300,000+ cars here, and we have a grand total of 15 public charging stations.

The government, both regional and national, doesn’t have the money to rebuild an antiquated electrical infrastructure (most of it dating from the Cold War era) and expand said infrastructure.
