He is not bound by the gag order unless they can prove his dad specifically told him to do that.

Unfortunately, like all mob bosses, Trump doesn’t have to specifically give an order to his henchmen; they know what he wants and they do it.
Trump tried to stiff her… after he failed to stiff her.
NYPD Produces Propaganda Instead of Legally Required Public Records
On Tuesday, dozens of New York Police Department officers raided Columbia University’s campus and arrested more than a hundred students camped out on its lawn and occupying one of its buildings.
The next day, the NYPD released a dramatically edited hype video detailing its efforts and warning others not to protest. Immediately upon seeing the video, we filed a public records request asking for information about how the video was made, what editing notes are given, who asked for it to be made, how much it cost to make, and other information about the video. I am not optimistic that we will get it. If we do, I suspect that it will take many years.
The fact that the NYPD was able to spin out a propaganda video in less than 24 hours using body camera footage and what looks to be professional video taken by the police is notable, because the New York City government, including the NYPD, has been horrendously—and perhaps illegally—slow at producing public records they are obligated by law to provide to the taxpayers who fund them.

Watched the Maestro last night and found the villain to be utterly captivating and the conceit of the character was genius. I wont drop any spoilers, but the character design was great and thought that was the best part of the episode. I think the new doc and companion aren’t getting good material though that may start to change. We have long arc narrative and monster of the week stories going on at same time.

It was a large improvement on the previous episode, which I see as the worst episode ever, including Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy episodes.

That said, the use of the music as a weapon was very similar to how it was used in Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness.
It’s probably a Disney thing, but having more money to plow into effects is showing in the visual quality of the show. It lets them do stuff they never were able to do in the past, but the show’s constraints were part of the charm.

New Laws Are Turning Police Into ‘Supercitizens’
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis recently signed two bills gutting the informal and formal oversight of the police. Senate Bill 184, the “Impeding, Threatening, or Harassing First Responders” Act, makes it a misdemeanor to stand within 25 feet of the police or other first responders if told to move, if the purpose is to interfere with, threaten with physical harm, or otherwise “harass” them. Harassment is defined to include “substantial emotional distress,” and what counts as distress or who makes that determination is not defined.
House Bill 601, simply titled “Law Enforcement and Correctional Officers,” takes aim at civilian oversight boards, local committees set up by cities to provide outside supervision of police departments. Under the new law, the existing boards would be re-established and any new ones created under new rules. Each committee can have three to seven members, but one member must be a retired law enforcement officer. Importantly, all members must be appointed by the local sheriff or police chief.
Both of these bills are designed to make the police more impervious to any meaningful oversight.
They can only do their job effectively if shielded from concrete accountability systems that actually codify failure conditions.

This nut job fucking plan to distribute unused AI computing capacity to people like company scrip so that capacity can become a widely traded speculative commodity should really be your signal that the AI hype train is about a year or so away from derailing. This is Sam’s subconscious admitting that the buildout has been way too fast and will vastly outpace actual marketability, so he’s floating ideas to juice demand.
Speaking on the technology podcast All-In, he predicted that future OpenAI models, several generations down the road, may be able to help people struggling with financial issues. Altman has long been a proponent of Universal Basic Income, Business Insider reports, and he has imagined a future where everyone is offered a “slice” of computer time in a future AI model like, say, GPT-7: a notion of “universal basic compute.” Essentially, “everybody gets like a slice of GPT-7’s compute” and they can “resell it, they can donate it to somebody to use for cancer research,” or other purposes. It could be as valuable as actual currency, in some form.

It really feels like the last days before the Dot Com Bust, when years of predictions that the internet was about to do everything including whiten your teeth crashed into the reality that the technology just wasn’t there and the bottom fell out of the sector for a decade.

Part of the reason for the slow posting is that Im Swedish and only come here when US politics goes really bonkers.
I went to high school in the late 80s in , of all places, Williamson County, TN. I thought the people were generally nice, slightly redneckish, but nowadays it seems to be an epicenter of MAGA in TN. People i have on FB can be devided into those that stayed there and generally i rabid antiabortion and MAGA, and those that left and stayed nice people.
I did win the price for best student in US history while there. :)
