i saw him around 1976 or so I think at SUNY Fredonia.
i had driven up from SUNY Stony Brook to visit a friend.
hadnt heard of him before then
at one point someone yelled out “Play Helter Skelter”
he shot right back “by myself?”
it was brilliant
