What Right Wing Extremist Violence?
This incident took place a few days ago, but in case you missed it, another deranged person spouting anti-Muslim smears and threats against the President was arrested in East St. Louis and ordered to undergo a mental evaluation.
EAST ST. LOUIS A federal judge on Thursday ordered the man accused of triggering an eight-hour standoff with federal agents and police Tuesday night to get a mental evaluation.
Roman Otto Conaway, 50, emerged from his Fairview Heights home with a hoax ‘suicide belt” after federal agents showed up at his home, charging documents claim.
Investigators say authorities went to speak to Conaway after he threatened to burn a Quran and threatened President Barack Obama on Facebook and in a call to someone “associated” with a local mosque.
After Conaway surrendered, he was arrested and charged in federal court in East St. Louis with making false threats to detonate an explosive device and threatening the president, charges that carry a potential penalty of five years in prison.
