Trump Spokesperson Katrina Pierson: “Maybe I’ll Wear a Fetus Next Time”

Right wing humor
Politics • Views: 45,003

Reacting to criticism of the bullet necklace she wore on CNN yesterday, Donald Trump’s official national spokesloon Katrina Pierson said the necklace was made of “real ammo:”

Then she tweeted the following gross statement:

Of course, you realize this is what passes for “humor” among the wingnut crowd. But these people are so deranged I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised to see her actually follow through and do it.

Not surprising that Trump thinks John Wayne is a role model. In 1971 Wayne gave an interview to Playboy, was asked about the civil rights movement, and said this:

I believe in white supremacy until blacks are educated to a point of responsibility. I don’t believe in giving authority and positions of leadership and judgment to irresponsible people…. The academic community has developed certain tests that determine whether the blacks are sufficiently equipped scholastically…. I don’t feel guilty about the fact that five or ten generations ago these people were slaves. Now I’m not condoning slavery. It’s just a fact of life, like the kid who gets infantile paralysis and can’t play football like the rest of us.

Just as soon as they can find an anti-Obama angle, they’ll push it hard. There’s no doubt hope that further “investigation” will turn up some link between the NSA investigation and the White House they can spin as the administration actively working to undermine opposition to the deal.

I know I’m playing at the edges of being an agist, but as people get older there can be, even if not functional dementia, quite a bit of conflicting ideas that are somehow not recognized as such.

I’ve brought up before the problem of “going emeritus”.

In Eastwood’s case I really do believe he’s thinking he’s making some sort of statement. Sure, he makes not only Million Dollar Baby but also Letters From Iwo Jima.

Yet Eastwood then goes and makes these silly endorsements or statements.

Perhaps it’s all performance art to him?

It is so hard to reconcile the two sides of Clint Eastwood. I think of the movie Gran Torino, in which his character (Walt Kowalski) is beset on all fronts by “alien” influences, from the idealistic young priest to the Hmong family next door and the gangs, even his doctor retired and was replaced by a young oriental woman. Walt grimaces and gripes, but seems to accept the new reality. It’s a good movie if you haven’t seen it.
So how could the same man then believe in the decline of America?

“Marco has recommended scores of Floridians for various professional positions and after Orlando paid his debt to society, Marco was happy to recommend him as well. He believed Orlando should be judged on his own merits and felt it would be highly inappropriate, and could be perceived as exerting undue pressure, if his letter stated that Orlando was a relative.”

I might buy the “judged on his own merits” argument if Rubio had sent letters of recommendation for others as well. But when this is the only letter you send, and the guy happens to be your BIL, then it’s pretty obvious his “merits” are not the reason for the letter.

“Redeploy” - our love of militarism even in language:

Jeb Bush’s Campaign Redeploys Staff Members, Aiming at Early States

Yet another shake-up to Jeb Bush’s already beleaguered campaign Wednesday underscored the challenges Mr. Bush faces to revive his presidential bid just a month before the first votes are cast.

The campaign announced Wednesday afternoon that it was pulling $3 million in television airtime it had reserved in Iowa and New Hampshire, which hold the first contests in early February. And in a conference call, Danny Diaz, Mr. Bush’s campaign manager, said that about 60 members of its staff, largely from the campaign’s Miami headquarters, would be re-deployed to help with persuasion and get-out-the-vote efforts in the early nominating states.

[…]

Uh… redeploy from warm, subtropical Miami to snow-socked and frozen Iowa and New Hampshire. Sure.

Maybe they mean SC and NV. SC isn’t so far I guess they could move 60 people up there. But SC is the one state in which Trump will likely make his biggest splash.

Maybe the 60 will head to the Bush compound in Kennebunkport? Forward deployed on the NH front?

Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, who is seeking to gain ground in Republican states dominated by conservatives, this week endorsed the idea of amending the Constitution to set term limits in Congress and the Supreme Court.

Mr. Rubio had said in the past that he was open to such an undertaking. Rubio is the boy wonder, not Bush, not Christie.

He’s really behind in the popularity polls though.

And Bush’s small platoon pales in size to Cruz’s army:

Thousands Of Ted Cruz Supporters Play A Game That Might Win Iowa

On a recent balmy December evening, the political allure of Ted Cruz was on full display in a nearly deserted Des Moines parking lot. There were more than a couple of Texas license plates parked in front of vaguely Eastern Bloc apartments, a sign that what had been announced by the campaign in early December had come to pass: Cruz’s team had rented out the space to house 500 out-of-state volunteers. Each had signed up online to spend the weeks leading up to the caucus walking Des Moines’s blocks, chipper mercenaries in the hotly contested Battle of Iowa. The Cruz campaign had been lauded for its online connectivity and barnstorming ground game, and here it was in action

[…]

Cruz is really shooting for Iowa. Not much left for Rubio.

And now Trump is threatening to open the coffers. He can probably rent every van in the state for a day and drive all his supporters to their local caucus.

It depresses me to no end that I have to share the country with people who look at this guy and think he should be President. That comment above about Reince Preibus asking for his GOP autopsy money back is right on the mark.

SB 35 does two things. First, it would prohibit schools from ever allowing transgender students from using restrooms that match their gender identity. Students would only be identified by the sex assigned to them at birth as determined by their anatomy and chromosomes, and that sex would determine which facility they can and cannot use.

This would force schools to violate Title IX and discriminate against transgender students. The Department of Education has repeatedly found that schools can not refuse access to transgender students on the basis of their gender identity.

Then, the bill mandates that any transgender person who uses a public sex-specific restroom, locker room, or shower room that matches their gender identity has committed a “single sex public facility trespass,” which it deems a Class A misdemeanor. A Class A misdemeanor is the highest non-felony charge in Indiana, punishable by up to one year in jail and a fine of up to $5,000 dollars.

The misdemeanor charge would not apply to a student at a school, a person under the age of 18, or the usage of any private residence facility.

snip

Tomes insists his legislation doesn’t target transgender people.

Trump Extrapolation (Extreme Case)

trump’s landslide election sets off not only ecstatic celebrations but also a rash of beatings and lynchings. spanish speakers, “muslim looking” people, homosexuals, “liberals”, maybe even black people. trump makes a speech deploring this behavior and demands that it stop. only just a hint of wink wink nod nod

trump takes office with a gop congress cowed by his populist power and ready to do his bidding. trump demands funds for the wall, promises to get mexico to make it up later, and tariffs of 35% on imported goods coming from any factory off shored after the bill passes. threatens tariffs on goods from any country that defies his will. ramps up deportations of south of the border illegal aliens, with the promise that he will expedite the process of getting them back in legally

prices of foodstuffs go up. prices of imported goods go up. industrial workers laid off as expected savings through off shoring by multinationals put off until they can get the tariff pressure off their backs. companies fight pressure to raise wages. beatings and lynchings begin to start up again here and there

trump promises gigantic increase in deficit foreseen for years 2016/17 will only be temporary. “reasons” to blame it on obama. begins to talk about how to make obamacare better, and save social security and medicare. beatings and lynchings, talk about “set us free from [bad names for people you don’t like here], and grumbling about trump being soft and a secret liberal

work on wall begins, soaking up labor and raising pressure on wages. “TrumpFlation” biggest topic of 2017. many bankruptcies, food and service sectors in chaos. retaliatory tariffs by other countries panic american corporations, which begin to liquidate american operations…

I think it depends on how the case shakes out, because if CBS/Paramount prevails here, they may see that as precedent to go after other fan videos. Trek fans are sort of used to the studios being anal-retentive when it comes to their copyrights, like how Viacom (after buying the TV franchise) went nuts during the late-90s with C&Ds to any website that had a single item they considered an “infringement.” Then there was the lead-up to TNG, when Paramount suddenly decided that fan-produced books were no longer canon and started going after “unauthorized” books.

They live in this fantasy world where a new Constitutional convention being held would mean that they have a majority of the support in the nation for their crazed ideas. But the reality is that a convention would probably bite them in the ass, quickly and quite viciously. First example: Curbing the second amendment by making it clear that it applies to the military/LEO and not to any goober with fantasies about making himself king of his own little fiefdom.

I wandered into the tail end of the parade the first year I lived in Philly while trying to get across Broad and down towards Front St. running errands. Since then I have generally ignored it, though I can hear it from the apartment. But then parades clogging up the City Hall side of the Ben Franklin is a fairly common event on weekends.

I was surprised that ProAm productions have been allowed to go as far as they have.
I wish creation of episodes could be driven by love of the show, but we live in a capitalist country, Star Trek does not belong to the fans, and the IP owner was bound to assert themselves eventually.

Caught a few minutes of him filling in for Rush today. He was mostly on about comparing Ted Cruz to Ronald Reagan. And his strong moral stand against Donald Trump seams to have…um…weakened a bit.

True. That is why I would watch the Mummers on TV. It is safer.

That tour has been on my list for a while. I’m thinking more along the lines of vintage electrics. More my speed.

Neither could people back in ‘33.

Hitler didn’t win any election that got him into the office. He was appointed by people who thought they could control him.

Yeah, I haven’t been following Axanar too much beyond the odd press release, but I can see in this filing CBS/Paramount sort of trying to close the barn door long after the horse escaped, won the Kentucky Derby, and sired a whole herd of offspring. They’re really going to be pressed to explain just why, after decades of fan videos to be made, that this one is suddenly worth taking to court.

Of course, it could just as well be that CBS/Paramount figures that the Abrams films are such cash cows that anything that might be seen as competitive must be smashed flat before others get any ideas.

This “convention” thing is coming back in style in the wingnut fashion corridors.

Really kind of stupid, on their part. Any rewriting of the Constitution will not end up with anything like their fantasies.

if they really understood american history, they would be for repealing the current constitution and going back to one that matches their desires much more closely - the articles of confederation

And that’s a multi-day ediface. Especially since the ticket is good for two other buildings in addition to the main multi-wing building at the top of the famous stairs.

I hope you got out and got a nice dinner before it got icky outside.

a.) We do not have the Weimar constitution.
b.) We haven’t even seen how Trump will respond once Cruz whomps him in Iowa and the establishment starts bludgeoning him as ‘unelectable.’

No one gets it. Republicans know they cannot win the Presidency. They have no policies that work any more. if they let a Democrat win the Presidency then they can keep obstructing and using rhetoric to whip up anger and win more state elections. If they had all the power like they did for 6 of the 8 Bush years, the country would revolt more against Republicans. So to keep their brand they want to only control part of government to obstruct.
