That one hopefully won’t go far. I don’t like Musk but he does know space better than any other billionaire.

I’m just still pissed that the VentureStar never got built so we wouldn’t be dependent on that arrogant fuck.

So hold on. I had a thought that I hadn’t realized earlier. The IRS budget is $12B/yr. Biden wants to give them $80B for 10 years. That’s an $8B/yr increase. That’s only a 66% increase year over year, which is a hell of a lot less than we have given other federal agencies at points in our history *cough* DHS *cough*

Why they hell didn’t they resign instead of writing the bogus story? I’m unimpressed. This feels like a salvage attempt after getting caught rather than any actual integrity.

Swift action to cut methane emissions could slow the Earth’s warming by 30 percent, study finds
washingtonpost.com

The Senate this week is also expected to hold a vote to use the Congressional Review Act, which allows Congress to overturn rules completed in the waning days of an outgoing administration, to scrap Trump-era efforts to weaken the Environmental Protection Agency’s ability to restrict methane emissions from the oil and gas sector.
Ocko said an all-out push to cut methane emissions would take different forms. It would include clamping down on oil- and gas-related leaks, cleaning up abandoned coal mines, expanding the use of feed supplements for cattle that could reduce methane from their belches and more broadly deploying technologies to capture emissions from landfills.
Such an approach, the authors found, has the potential to prevent nearly a half-degree Fahrenheit of warming by mid-century — an amount that sounds small, but that could help avoid serious climate fallout.

From the tweet:

My flight from Chicago to NYC was just called back to the gate after a guy in a white supremacy tee shirt refused to wear his mask. “This is fucking America!” he shouted.
But mostly he’s fucking w/the rest of US, who are following the rules and now are going to be an hour late!

I’d love to see what the t-shirt said. Because wearing a “white supremacy” tee would be a straight up “Here’s your money back, you ain’t flying with us, Adolf” response on Mattand Airlines.

2007 Hubbard Glacier, Alaska, as seen from cruise ship

2007 I was on this cruise only because my mother in law was convinced since 1999 her death was imminent, and she wanted this bucket list item of a family reunion in Alaska (spoiler: she is alive and well at 90 here in 2021 as longest living person in her family by a mile )

Ice looks blue due to extreme compression and you could watch and hear it calve off from ship deck

The India situation is a lot worse than official information. Just in my department, we have a half dozen Indian engineers out sick. This is leading to a personnel crunch. And, to be clear, these people hadn’t been working from the office, their offices have been closed for months. They’re picking it up in the community.

This is Not Good.

How do you resign AFTER writing a story you knew was bullshit? How does that asshole Roberts at Fox let that bullshit story about Biden and beef on the air “by mistake”? BECAUSE IT WASN’T A MISTAKE! He knew it was bullshit and did it anyway. Same with the NY Post. Now, both stories are accepted as fact and gospel by half the fucking country. The media is fucking toxic.

The amount of soft power Republicans are pissing away by doing this is unreal.

There is no such thing as ‘straight news’ at Fox. Their only goal is to turn the US into a right wing hellscape, and honest reporters at Fox are just being used to provide unearned credibility to the larger propaganda effort.
