White Sage - Looks Great and Smells Even Better

This plant is hard to photograph - the flower is long, quite small, the anthers and the stigma are so far from the base of the flower. I settled on this particular flower and angle after looking at hundreds of other combinations. This plant was in my neighborhood and visible from the sidewalk. I am probably a strange sight on the sidewalk with camera, tripod and flash - happy to report that no one came out and yelled at me.
Most amazingly about this photo is that if you know enough and are observant enough, you can see how this plant is designed to get pollinated by bees. The anthers are somewhat parallel and lightly touch the bees (like rollers at the car wash…) as they come for a meal

I would be all like “Can you print that on 18 X 24” paper? How much you want for it?”

It’s a gorgeous shot. Thyme flowers are incredibly complex and beautiful. Kinda like a hybrid of a snapdragon and an orchid. Well done!

Looks like you can buy directly on their site for an inexpensive price - $18 for a 16x20 - I was over at smug mug and the prices seemed to start $100 for that size.
If you really want a print, I can send a link via dropbox with higher resolution. Looks beautiful on flickr - when you really want to print you need more dpi than the screen.

I don’t know if the states remain, I do know I’d have a guerilla force operating in the northwoods of Wisconsin against the empire. Perhaps running supplies, weapons and explosives from NATO across the Canadian border… The Poutine Fries Trail…
