Suzannah Powell (born August 16, 1988) is an American singer, songwriter, producer, rapper, and performance artist, best known by her stage name Boyfriend. Raised in Nashville, she found her persona upon moving to New Orleans. Boyfriend coined the term “rap-cabaret,” a nod to the emphasis on performance in her music. Formerly known as Flannery Mitchell, she identifies only as Boyfriend but was born Suzannah Powell, daughter of Award-winning Country songwriter and producer Monty Powell.

Set List
00:00:00
00:00:19 - “Superman”
00:03:36 - “Bring it to Momma”

Sadly, looks like the death toll in that crowd crush incident in South Korea has gone up rather dramatically:

At least 120 people have been killed after a stampede in the South Korean capital of Seoul, according to local fire authorities.

The victims were crushed by a large crowd pushing forward on a narrow street during Halloween festivities near the Hamilton Hotel in the Itaewon area.

Footage on social media showed many victims lying on the pavement as workers from the emergency services and bystanders performed CPR in an effort to revive them.

I just went to the last page I made, not to the dashboard, pushed the edit button, italicized one of the instances of “Newsweek” I had forgotten to italicize before posting, it showed it the right way after I pushed “save” but it returned to the original state after I reloaded the page, i.e. it did not get saved.

Looking at the news coming out of Seoul, this is worse than the Hillsborough Disaster, a 1989 crowd crush incident at Hillsborough Stadium in Sheffield in the UK that left 97 dead and some 700 injured. Current death toll, as per South Korean authorities, now stands at 146.

JFC. This is one of those disasters that’s gonna end up having a documentary made about it.

PS: could you implement the frame resizer for Pages?

42
Charles Johnson  Oct 29, 2022 • 12:26:02pm

The DB table for LGF Pages is still titled “relatedlinks,” because that’s how the feature started before Pages existed — as a way for members to post links related to an article.

Everybody immediately started using it to post all kinds of stuff, and the “related links” idea went right out the window.

Powerball jackpot is up to $825M, sneaking up on real money.

If no one wins tonight then Monday’s jackpot is expected to be $1B. Real money, that is.

But with the annuity rates much higher than they were even a year ago, the actual cash value is much less, and after paying taxes the Californian will be left with a mere $258M. Enough to buy a house.

Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities is probably the greatest horror anthology ever made. Really incredible stories, acting, production, effects, everything. The one based on H.P. Lovecraft’s classic story “Pickman’s Model” is a standout, but every episode is great.

Self-declared doomer I am, so surely you all have plenty of salt around to find a grain, but…

I get the feeling like it’s the 1920’s and ‘30’s again.

Of course history does not repeat itself but the idea that it rhymes has some merit.

If Americans today care more about the price of gasoline rather than care about human rights and wars around the world, it is all understandable.

And very near sighted.

Demonizing immigrants, religious fundamentalists wanting to dictate the lives of others, isolationism… we’ve been here before.

At an event on Thursday, NH Republican Senate candidate Don Bolduc spread the Internet hoax kids identify as cats and use litter boxes in schools.

This is because schools encourage feline identity and reward students who can choke up hairballs and lick their own genitals.

Frum doesn’t “both sides” it

David Frum: “There’s nothing partisan about political violence in America… But if both Republicans and Democrats, left and right, suffer political violence, the same cannot be said of those who celebrate political violence. That’s not a ‘both sides’ affair in 2020s America.”

This is true. A few years ago the salutatorian from one of Lubbock’s most radical evangelical high schools got a full ride scholarship to Liberty U. Alas, a few months into his enrollment, he got caught in the girls’ dorm after hours, an expulsion offense at Liberty. He resisted and struck a police officer with a hammer, injuring the officer. The officer shot him dead. There was much caterwauling and gnashing of teeth about a high status white boy being killed by police, but what was the cop supposed to do? Allow himself to be beaten to death?

As I’ve said before, through his letters to the editor of the Concord Monitor (and probably Union-Leader) I realized years ago that he’s really just a bitter old crank and scold who gets his news from the RW echo chamber. We’re now waiting for announcement of the 12 bands out of 32 that will play in the finals tonight for area marching competition. The 12 will perform between 7:30 and 11pm and 6 will be chosen to go to state.

As good as the band has gotten, there’s only a really small chance that they will get to go to state. But the truly frustrating thing is that I would have gone with them but I will be useless even if I get to where I can walk without trouble from my calf injury. State is from the 7th to the 9th in San Antonio.

There are so many bands in DFW, and about half of the 12 are automatic. One thing you will notice here is how much money school districts spend on schools and bands makes a big difference. Ours isn’t too shabby, but there are about six schools in the area that spend big money on their band programs. Sadly, one of the school districts, Garland, spends a lot of money on some schools and not others.

They don’t see themselves as monsters. They see themselves as holy warriors doing the Lord’s work. They wish to install this very sense of violent religious hammer-wielding government upon the whole US first, and implement this horror against the larger world, starting with the EU.

Monsters imply no human level of thought behind this. They are just pure Evil. Plain and simple. There is no discussion with those that seek to justify bashing an 80+ year old man in his own house.
