The FBI found more classified documents in President Biden’s home, Rep. George Santos may have lied about starring in the TV show, “Hannah Montana,” and the former president should be barred from speaking at funerals after the eulogy he delivered for one of his biggest fans. #Colbert #Comedy #Monologue

I can heartily recommend Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre to the lovers of the Japanese-bizarre. Those are vignettes (not always whole stories) designed to produce a certain mood. I got an esthetic high from some of them. Then I remembered that many years ago I read some of the author’s mangas

Speaking of fuckery, I’m trying to fast one day a week to drop a few pounds. On my fast day I just eat a little fruit and drink broth during the day then have a modest dinner. Decided to try garlic powder and chili pepper water in my broth for extra flavor. I cannot inhale through my nose when I put the thermos to my mouth or I sneeze from the chili pepper fumes! Gotta work on my pepper skillz.

It was announced on Tuesday that unknown to Pence, among the items taken from his time in the White House were a few documents that were marked classified. Pence, like President Joe Biden, immediately contacted the FBI and handed over the information.

The Trump team thinks that it will make it difficult for prosecutors to justify bringing charges against the former president without charging Pence and Biden.

“They are all now linked in a way,” the source told CNN.

Let me guess…the source is Screwdy G!

Sounds like Leader McTurtle is trying to have it both ways: it’s a sure thing, IMO, that the Senate will sign off on any debt-ceiling bill the House passes (even though I imagine some GOPers are going to naysay just for the “principle”), but he doesn’t want to heat up the wingnuts any more than he has to.

Are we surprised that there’s another scandal at the church that used to be run by everyone’s favorite Crystal Methodist?

Ted Haggard’s former megachurch hit with another scandal

A megachurch in Colorado has fired a member of the band Vertical Worship for allegedly having an extra-marital affair, The Christian Post reports.

Andi Rozier, who was part of the worship band at New Life Church in Colorado Springs, was immediately fired when the affair was discovered.

“We have already engaged in a communication process with our church,” Executive Pastor Brian Newberg said in a statement. “Our staff was communicated to last week and our congregation was communicated to in-person at our weekend services.”

“We are walking alongside [Rozier’s] wife and children to help them heal,” he added. “Andi is no longer a part of our pastoral team.”

I do not agree with this.

NewsNation host and Mediaite founder Dan Abrams made the case that Donald Trump shouldn’t be charged over the Mar-a-Lago documents scandal in light of everything that has happened with President Joe Biden’s classified documents.

In a commentary at the outset of his Monday show, Abrams made reference to the news that the Department of Justice found even more classified documents and sensitive materials after conducting a search through Biden’s house in Delaware. As he broke down the search’s implications, Abrams said, “I am finally convinced… the DOJ won’t, or probably shouldn’t, prosecute Donald Trump in connection with the documents found at Mar-a-Lago.”

“This coming from someone who believes Donald Trump almost certainly committed a crime with the way he tried to keep the documents from the National Archives and the DOJ,” Abrams said. “It’s not just that classified material keeps popping up in Biden’s homes and offices; it’s also what Biden has said both about his own situation and that of Donald Trump.”

After rolling footage of Democrats criticizing Biden’s handling of documents, Abrams acknowledged the president’s compliance with investigators represents a big legal difference between his situation and Trump’s. Nonetheless, Abrams was exasperated when he aired Attorney General Merrick Garland’s response to both cases.

“C’mon! When you talk about prosecuting the former president of the United States and investigating the current one, it can’t be just about the definitions of criminal statutes,” Abrams said. “Both of these cases stem from the former president and former vice president not taking classified material seriously enough. In both cases, they kept dozens of documents they weren’t supposed to have, and if you are going to charge for that, you better be able to explain to the public why it’s so serious that a former, or theoretically current, president should get charged for it.”

From there, Abrams recalled Biden’s 60 Minutes interview where he called Trump’s handling of documents “totally irresponsible.” This, Abrams said, was undercut by Biden’s lack of contrition, and how he “doesn’t seem to be taking any of this that seriously at all.”

Pauline Bauer, a Capitol rioter who became known for deploying sovereign citizen-style rhetoric in her legal defense filings, was found guilty by a judge on Tuesday, just over two years after she broke into the Capitol building and demanded the hanging then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

CBS News’ Scott MacFarlane reports that United States District Court Judge Trevor McFadden, who was overseeing Bauer’s bench trial, found her guilty after rejecting claims that she “blacked out” amid the riots and thus did not bear full responsibility for her actions.

McFadden pointed to Bauer’s calls for the hanging of Pelosi and other lawmakers as sufficient to have her deemed an “obvious and grave security risk” to elected officials at the Capitol.

According to MacFarlane, Bauer sat “with her head in her hands” after being found guilty, although McFadden did agree to let her free in the months leading up to her sentencing on the grounds that she had already served several months in prison after being held in pretrial detention.

ND state rep Prichard (R) claims “I broke the university’s record for most credits taken in a semester with a perfect GPA with 32 credits” (he also claimed he attended the school on a part-time and virtual basis - so much for consistency). Anyway, the school he is referring to is the U of MN School of Law and they limit credits per semester to 17 max (slight out in that you can get special permission for more than 17 but no dean of students is going to do that no matter how brilliant) - law.umn.edu

Do Scammers Have Remote Access To Your Computer? Do This!

Did You Give a Scammer Remote Access To Your Computer?

Soraida Morales was confused when she got a bill for $399 for virus protection for her computer. She’d never signed up for the service, so she called the number in the email to reverse the charge [*].

But once she was on the phone, the technical support agent convinced her to give him remote access to her computer so that he could “fix” the charge for her. Soraida watched as the agent moved her mouse, downloaded apps, and entered code on her computer.

Then, he stole $3,000 from her.

Soraida was the victim of a remote access scam. In this type of scheme, fraudsters trick victims into downloading apps that give total control of their computer to the scammers. According to the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3), tech support scammers cost victims over $18 billion in 2021 [*].

If you give a scammer remote access to your computer, you need to act quickly.
