Trump Leans Into Globalist Conspiracy Theories With New ‘Make America Great For Us Again’ Ad
Former President Donald Trump debuted a new web ad on Wednesday night that is chock full of allusions to globalist conspiracy theories and a modified version of his famous slogan. The video is the first ad Trump has shared on his Truth Social platform since President Joe Biden officially kicked off his re-election campaign on Tuesday.
Trump’s ad paints the country under Biden as “a nation in decline” beset by crime, economic woes, “an invasion” from across the border, and a nation facing “the threat of nuclear annihilation.” It also identifies another culprit for these issues.
“The global elitists who send your kids to war, who tell you a woman is a man and a man is a woman, who teach your children their country, their faith, their beliefs are a lie. They have corrupted every facet of American government,” a narrator intones dramatically in the clip.

Can you imagine Harrison Ford doing a commercial like that?
No, because he seems to be in a constant state of simmering rage about Star Wars, or life in general.
And that’s when he’s on weed.
CNN anchor Dana Bash pushed back on a headline in the Los Angeles Times that noted her former relationship with fellow anchor John King while reporting she was taking over the network’s “Inside Politics” show. The headline in the Times initially read “John King exits CNN’s ‘Inside Politics’ for new role. His ex-wife Dana Bash will succeed him.” It has since been updated to say “John King exits CNN’s ‘Inside Politics’ for new role. Dana Bash will succeed him.”
“Yes John and I used to be married,” Bash wrote in a tweet on Thursday. “We are now friends and share a wonderful son together. In this context I am not an “ex wife,” I am a veteran journalist with decades of experience who worked hard for this role. Do better please.

Welp, we’re getting closer to an explicit Stab In The Back Myth cued off of failures at both war and empire.
The funny thing is, I don’t think this is about copying old fascists, or even teaming up with current fascists: reactionary elites seeking to conceal their own failures have a limited number of rhetorical strategies…like a Magic the Gathering deck…and at some point they fall into the same meta; the inevitable, effective sequences of emotional appeal and conspiracism.

It’s ok for the article itself to make a casual reference to their previous relationship. But it did not belong as a headline since it wasn’t relevant to her promotion.

Tampa Bay Times: Here’s what Gov. DeSantis and King George III have in common
“It seems to me that you have reverted to the original definition of freedom but have turned it on its head. Far from government acting to protect and sustain its citizens, government has become an agent of tyranny, a force to protect citizens from embracing freedom.
Government must ban books.
Government must treat transgender people as undeserving of freedom (sound familiar?).
Government must treat LGBTQ+ citizens as pariahs (again, sound familiar?).
Government must deny women control over their own bodies.
Government must restrict the freedom of teachers to teach.
Government must treat the rights and property of corporations which criticize state policy as forfeit.
Government must restrict the right to vote.
Government must create a state police unit to arrest citizens who were told by the other state agents they could vote but you don’t think they should.

I actually had an argument with Z about Soros. He claimed 1) Soros was a nazi collaborator and 2) Soros caused the Malaysian currency to crash.
I decided to do my own research.
1) Soros was 14 YEARS OLD (when the war ended). Kids did what they had to do to survive, but he could not have been a high value collaborator BECAUSE HE WAS 14 YEARS OLD.
2) The myth that Soros crashed the Malaysian currency was started by the Malaysian PM, Mohammed Mahathir, a Holocaust denier. Soros invested in Malaysia so Mahathir blamed Soros when his own (Mahathir’s) massive stealing from his own country’s treasury could no longer be ignored.
3) Every time Soros name is invoked it has nothing to do with Soros personally, he is the Goldstein.

Senate Republicans block Equal Rights Amendment: report
The United States Senate on Thursday failed to clear a procedural hurdle to passing the Equal Rights Amendment, despite a century-long push to codify gender protections into law.
“With a 51-47 vote in favor, Senate Democrats and supporters were nine votes shy of the 60 needed for a resolution to clear the 100-member chamber’s filibuster hurdle,” Reuters explained. “The resolution would have removed a 1982 deadline for state ratification that prevented the Equal Rights Amendment from going into effect. Three states — Nevada, Illinois and Virginia — approved it after 1982.”

- “Eat food. Not too much. Mostly Plants”
- Food means fresh food
— not highly processed, high fat, high sugar industrialized food.

Food is fuel. Eat enough for fuel. Nothing more.
I try to reflect daily. it doesn’t always work:
Food is not primarily for fun, not for pleasure, not for fattening, not for beautification. Food is for the maintenance and nourishment of this body, for keeping it healthy, for helping with the spiritual life.
Thinking thus, allay hunger without overeating, to continue to live blamelessly and at ease.
“Ken Block, founder of the firm Simpatico Software Systems, studied more than a dozen voter fraud theories and allegations for Trump’s campaign in late 2020 and found they were ‘all false.’”
Said Block: “No substantive voter fraud was uncovered in my investigations looking for it, nor was I able to confirm any of the outside claims of voter fraud that I was asked to look at. Every fraud claim I was asked to investigate was false.”“Block said he recently received a subpoena from special counsel Jack Smith’s office and met with federal prosecutors in Washington, but he declined to discuss his interactions with them. Block said he contemporaneously sent his findings disputing fraud claims in writing to the Trump campaign in late 2020.”

So, I think I’ll donate.

My how the lies change.
Yeah, but this isn’t really a “conservative” lie, it’s the fundamental lie behind all militarism, that it’s some specially demarcated status to be a soldier, that to serve is to further high abstractions of state ideology but not the nitty-gritty material objectives of the state as concrete entity made of fallible people. De facto, states are indifferent to the individual lives of their citizens and do send people out to die—or be brutalized—for marginal gains. What must be concealed is that whether or not the individual soldier is heroic or an idealist is irrelevant, the state has the ability to use their body frivolously and cynically and wastefully.
The stab in the back is the necessary inverse of demarcating soldiers as little synedoches of the state: the system cannot be undeserving of the sacrifice of its troops; it cannot be indicted for their suffering because their suffering was necessary; the system can only fail because a third party—someone with stigma rather than honor—intervened.

Typically, it’s in a bar with the speakers along the base of the monitor, above the keyboard.

OK, I found the speakers. They’re on the front edge of the base. I unplugged the ones I can see to find the built-ins. I don’t see a mike. There are tiny holes near the camera.

If there’s more than one, it may be one of those. Typically, one of those is the little indicator light that shows you the camera is on.

Pretty, ain’t it.
Not everyone has an easy time getting wireless earbuds to fit comfortably. It seems like tech companies all size their silicone ear tips differently, and foam tips, as good as they can be, don’t always solve the problem. So there was a lot of excitement earlier this month when Ultimate Ears announced the $250 UE Fits, a pair of earbuds that can mold to the shape of your ear for unmatched comfort. The earbuds use a 60-second molding process that doesn’t require a visit to your local audiologist or taking an impression of each ear with an at-home kit that needs to be mailed in. This approach is an evolution of technology that parent company Logitech picked up through its acquisition of Revols. Ultimate Ears doesn’t quite match the perfect, unique-to-you results that you get with expensive custom ear tips that professional musicians use. But the UE Fits come close enough that they’re more comfortable than any regular earbud tip I’ve ever tried. The molding process is something special, but the earbuds themselves trail similarly priced competitors in a few disappointing ways.
But first, let’s cover that fitting process. The UE Fits come with large ear tips — if you can still call these that — with an outer layer of soft silicone. Underneath the silicone, there’s gel containing a photopolymer that reacts to light. When you unbox the Fits, there’s a warning that they’re light-sensitive, and you’re encouraged to have the mobile app downloaded and ready to go before you take them out of the packaging. (Don’t sweat this too much. The sensitivity isn’t so extreme that you’ll mess them up if they sit out for a while.)
Each earbud has bright purple LEDs that cure the gel during the minute-long molding session and harden it to the shape of your ear. The UE Fits app guides you through the entire thing. It starts by instructing you to put the earbuds in until they’re comfortable and the bass from the sound test is to your liking.

I bought a set of the Jabra elite active 65t from eBay for like 50 bucks 2 years ago. They’ve been great.
Also have a set of Sony WF-1000XM3 that I almost never use because I like the Jabras a lot more.

It’s a shame that Feinstein is holding on when it’s obvious that she could retire and let Gov Newsom replace her with someone who can actually do the job. The Senate balance is too close for this.
