Ren, on Piano: “Mackay”

Music • Views: 12,872

This is a tribute for one of my best friends Callum Mackay. For a long time I wanted to write him a song, but every time I sat down I couldn’t think of the right words which left me feeling frustrated. Callum died very shortly after Joe, another very dear friend. Trying to process both created a bit of a block, and to be honest ever since I haven’t really been able to fully grieve whenever I loose someone close to me.

One day while sat at the piano I was playing around with melodies and this came out. Sometimes I don’t have words to explain or express the thing that wants to be expressed. In those moments I’m so grateful for music

This is for you Callum Mackay

A quote on Charlie Pierce’s column:

“He lacks any shred of human decency, humility or caring. He is morally bankrupt, breathtakingly dishonest, lethally incompetent, and stunningly ignorant of virtually anything related to governing, history, geography, human events or world affairs. He is a traitor and a malignancy in our nation and represents a clear and present danger to our democracy and the rule of law.”

-Former key member of trump administration who withheld his name to protect his family

And a commentor followed:

It really is time to lock this guy up for contempt of everything.

I’m really worried that trump is mentally flaming out too early. Yes, he’s inciting actions against himself to motivate his followers, but it’s rapidly becoming apparent that we’re getting much closer to having to call those nice young men in their clean white coats. We need at least a couple more months to irrevocably lock him into being the republican nominee—without time for them to set him aside, try to get us to forget about him, and promote someone else as their candidate.

I think that ship sailed. He’ll always be the MAGAt nominee, even after he’s dead.

There’s no scenario where they can replace him in any way without losing a massive chunk of the MAGA moron crowd. And there’s no scenario where the overwhelming majority of people who were remotely conscious in the past eight years forget the man and his actions - nor how they enabled everything.

I have a strong suspicion that at some point after the Merchan trial begins, because that’s a criminal trial, the judge is going to demand that Trump undergo a pscyh evaluation, and I’m pretty sure that’s not gonna be one of those “Man, woman, camera” tests. They’re likely going to determine that he’s a sociopathic narcissist, but that he does understand right from wrong and hence can be tried. That will still be absolutely devastating for his campaign because effectively, whether it’s worded that way or not, people are going to get confirmation that he’s at least technically insane, even if he is able to make it through the day without having other people dress and feed him.

That thought occurred to me too; Judge Merchan could order a psych test for Trump, and if (or more likely, when) it comes back showing he’s got some kind of severe antisocial personality disorder, then everyone will know for sure “That boy just ain’t right in the head”, to borrow a phrase from Foghorn Leghorn.

They will hem, haw, and run away. There will be some sporadic violence, but nothing organized. And he will lose, and Republicans are going to get hammered.

Pretty brave of that former member of the Trump administration.
Btw, the fact that former members have to hide their identity to criticize Trump should be enough to disqualify him as an eligible presidential candidate.

From what I have read, the need for a psychiatric evaluatuon (a “730”) is up to the discretion of the judge who is worried that the defendant is incapacitated. I would believe that the a priori response of Trump to any gag order or order of the court, indicates his inability to understand a court order. And I am not sure it is an appealable action, at least until after a decision is made.

Of course, this would likely open the judge up for even more pressure to recuse himself and that he is unable to view Trump without hatred. It might allow an appeal court to get a new judge. Shouldn’t but who knows.

Yep. I would love him to order a 730 psych evaluation which he has the discretion to do on his own. Trump certainly indictaes his u=inability to understand a court order. That would be a surprise but probably open the judge even more to criticism.

Love to see him do it to protect his daughter.

“Among the youngest Black men, the incarceration rate has plummeted by nearly 90%, from 2.9% to 0.3%:”

Still higher than whites but a huge decrease nonetheless.

44
silverdolphin  Mar 31, 2024 • 1:38:39pm

Trump may have just broken bail conditions in every criminal case he’s facing: expert

Another reason he needs to undergo a psych evaluation. He simply seems to be incapable of following any court’s orders. The erasons why need to be determined.

Won’t happen because rich, white guys get away with breaking the law.

Naaah, it’s unfortunate, but a near-certainty that the RWNJ media take on these figures will be that “The Deep State”* is falsifying (or at the very least, fudging) the numbers for political reasons, so that the citizenry will ignore the inherent criminality of most of the Black population, and the bleeding-heart libtard policies that *always* try to excuse it.
