When do the feds get involved in this?

Whether you like it or not, abortion services are legal. This would be like saying cigarettes are legal but only if they don’t produce smoke

If they do, the lawgivers of the state of Kansas will, with no sense of irony whatsoever, complain about the intrusive government overreaching its bounds.

Not that you’ve ever had any doubts on what this legislation was really about (hint: it’s not, as it claims, about providing women with really, really hygenic spots to have a legal elective procedure) — but the postings on religious anti-choice websites this week are very clear on their agenda. I (bravely) went there, and the general tenor was something like, “Hallelujah! We have triumphed over the Baby-Murder Industry! Of course some women will still sneak out of state to kill their children but our state is now (praise the Lord) a haven of safety for the unborn.”

“Sneak out of state.” That’s really what they said. Because ideally, women are supposed to be imprisoned in Kansas and forced to bear children, like in that super-creepy movie “The Life Zone.”

[Makes note to add Kansas to list of places her daughters must never, ever live.]

I can hope Planned Parenthood will file suit to enforce Roe V Wade. Soon.

They don’t care about dead women. I think they want dead women and live babies, because orphans are easier to indoctrinate.

That article should have a Page of its own.

They’re going to have to get involved because there’s no end to legislation like this. Even if this law is thrown out, it can be replaced by some new form of harassment. It’s also ironic that conservatives have complained about this kind of tyranny by process in the past (gun control laws, for instance) and now they have embraced the tactic.

It’s so fucked up and yet so plausible at the same time. That scares me.

Unless the electorate lets them know it’s unacceptable….2012 is an opportunity to really make a statement to the GOP

Or an opportunity for the GOP to make a national statement.

Unfortunately I’m going with that reasoning and not holding my breath until the smoke clears.
