re: #3 Floral Giraffe

Oh, I so hope he gets home intact, physically & mentally.

He’ll need years of therapy. But the Israelis will have access to how we worked to treat returning Vietnam POWs, and all ideas on how to reacclimate a freed hostage. The important thing is to ensure that he is not forgotten and that he gets the care he needs.

But you know which American political figure should at least call him in a month or two? John McCain. McCain and other former POWs should reach out to Shalit, and let him know that there are men who understand what he has been through.

Note: I need to make clear, however, that Shalit should be considered to have been a terrorist hostage, not a POW. Hamas is a terrorist group, not a lawful government.
