The word “racism” was derived from the term “racialist”, which was in heavy usage during the 1800s - well before the birth of Trotsky, and predating communism by at least 50 years - and that is only for the United States.

Here’s an example from the 1850s:

Maybe someone should ask Bradlee what he thinks of the concept of racial superiority?

Thanks. I hadn’t heard about that historical document before.

You know even if they did? So the fuck what. The commies were way ahead of the curve on racial and racial equality issues when Bradlee’s ideological ancestors were condoning lynching. It’s bullshit anyhow just like the nonsense that Hitler coined “separation of church and state” that Dean and his fellow RWNJs like to claim.

They’ve also claimed that communist were the ones to create the concept of the separation of church and state. Wingnuts don’t even agree on their falsehoods.

Also a good reason for us to care is that any distortion of history, if it becomes widely accept can cause harm. Hell, even if only a few people believe it, it could be used by them as an excuse to behave a certain way, and they could cause harm, and depending on who they are, they could cause a lot of harm.

Remember how in the fifties and sixties some racists would going around promoting the idea that we shouldn’t integrate because racial equality was communism?

re: #3 HappyWarrior

Not to mention, if this lie ever become widespread, it could be used by racist to de-legitimize the civil rights movement. That is definitally something we don’t want.
