Three Israeli teenagers are kidnapped and murdered by Hamas, so naturally Glenn Greenwald attacks Israel.

Well, Glenn Greenwald seems to think the Israelis should do nothing because anything they do would be wrong. I’ve also seen comments asking if a kidnapping actually happened, that perhaps it’s a false flag operation so Israel can keep attacking those poor Palestinians.

But killing Israeli teenagers is nothing new for Palestinians. In fact, killing Israeli women and children is encouraged by the mullahs because it gets you to heaven faster….

What about those whose first reaction is to call for the extermination of the Palestinian people?

Have lots of *that* on my Facebook feed. :/

Anyone who does that at LGF will be suspended so fast it will make their head spin.

Glad to hear it, but the West Bank is full of Jews who still consider Baruch Goldstein a hero. I’d be more worried about them than any internet trolls. And on the other side, there are plenty of Palestinians who will consider this “payback” for the Arab teens killed in May.

True, but Charles doesn’t have the power to change the situation in Israel & the West Bank—all he can do is ban trolls who show up here and spew hatred at all Israelis/Zionists/Jews or Arabs/Palestinians/Muslims. That’s more than some people/places are willing to do.

The present crisis in the world, in the Middle East, in Israel/Palestine, is not about the values of Islam. It is not about the mentality of the Arabs, as some racists claim, not at all. It is about the ancient struggle between fanaticism and pragmatism. Between fanaticism and pluralism. Between fanaticism and tolerance. September 11 was not even about the question of whether America was good or bad, whether capitalism is ugly, or whether globalization should stop or not. This was about the typical fanatic claim: If I think something is bad, I kill it along with its neighbors.

Fanaticism is older than Islam, older than Christianity, older than Judaism, older than any state or any government, or political system, older than any ideology or faith in the world. Fanaticism is unfortunately an ever-present component of human nature, an evil gene, if you like. […]

I feel so bad for the parents.

Just extremely sad when children are killed.

CUFI, huh? Nice. You don’t miss an opportunity, do you? If someone said, “The Jews [insert negative group character trait]…” you and others would be all over it, and rightfully so. Yet you’re totally cool with Golda Meir’s shitty statement that dehumanizes “the Arabs” en masse. You’re part of the problem—I regret that I only have one down-ding to give you.

Yes … Watching how the Arabs treat each other gives me great hope that they’ll accept the Israelis. Syria and Iraq being only the latest examples. The quote was from Golda Meir, not Kahane. So sorry that telling the truth hurts your feelings.

You didn’t even read what I wrote, did you? I said, “Golda Meir’s shitty statement…” I know full well who she was, and her position as prime minister doesn’t excuse what she said—in fact it makes it even more egregious. I also know that the site you got that graphic from has been linked to Kahanists.

So sorry that telling the truth hurts your feelings.

Your “truth” doesn’t hurt my feelings, it exposes your rank bigotry. It was fanaticism & hateful intolerance that got those poor boys boys killed, yet their death is just another opportunity for haters to hate. It’s sickening.

Like I said, you’re part of the problem.

CL …. I read what you wrote. The quote was from Golda Meir, not Kahane. I would not quote Kahane as he does not represent my views of humanity. Apologists such as yourself act as if all the problems of the Mideast started in 1967. As for your accusations of bigotry, you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. All any fair minded person needs to do is look at the facts. Abbas’ wife goes to Israel for treatment in an Israeli hospital. Israeli doctors have treated Palestinians many times. With VERY few exceptions, any unfortunate Israeli who ends up in the hands of Palestinians can expect far less hospitable treatment. Sadly, the incitement in the Arab media and schools means that future generations of Arab youths will never be allowed to learn the truth about their neighbors in Israel. And Israelis will be just fine, by the way. They haven’t survived this long by ignoring history or being weak.

I said the CUFI site where you got the graphic of Golda Meir’s racist quote has been connected to Kahanists. Reading comprehension is key.

Apologists such as yourself act as if all the problems of the Mideast started in 1967.

“Apologists” such as myself? Prove it. Point out where I’ve attempted to justify or excuse bigotry or violence coming from Palestinians or other Arabs in my 4+ years here at LGF (or anywhere else).

I’ll be waiting. *tap, tap, tap…*

As for your accusations of bigotry, you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. All any fair minded person…

Ah yes, there’s always justification for the bigotry & racism, isn’t there? It’s always just about telling the “truth” about blacks, Hispanics, Jews, Arabs/Muslims, etc. Tell me again who the apologist is? //

Pathetic.

You type platitudes, while CL posts Pages about research she’s doing. The word ‘apologist’ is quite misplaced.

What, are we back in elementary school now—he just comes in and down-dings everyone, then grabs his toys and goes home because we’re a bunch of mean old poopy-heads or whatever? *eyeroll*

Sheesh, don’t dish it out if you can’t take the push-back.

So sorry, my gentle flower. Down dings are how we register disapproval. You should know, having dealt out your share. Considering the insults directed my way by those who disagree with me, I figured I was speaking your language. If it makes you feel better,I will rescind all of them.

LOL, what’s with the passive-aggressive refusal to use the “Reply” button? I chose “Email all comments” for this thread, so I’m going to see whatever you or anyone else posts, even if it’s not a direct reply to me.

You started this by posting Golda Meir’s famous and very racist comment. Yes, it’s racist because it attempts to paint “the Arabs”—that means all Arabs everywhere in case you don’t get it—as inferior, less than human. After all, what human doesn’t love their children more than they hate their enemies, right? Ergo, the Arabs aren’t “like us”, they’re sub-human, other. Hmm, where have I heard talk like that before…? But you already know all this, don’t you? You’re just doing it here because you figured no one would call you on it and now that someone has, you’re pissed off.

Are you a professional with a career? A college education? Are there people at your workplace who answer to you, or who see you as a mentor? Do you show those people your hateful, bigoted side, or do you reserve it especially for us because we don’t know your real identity therefore you don’t have to own it IRL?

One last thing: You accused me of being an apologist, yet you’ve failed to provide a single example of me having attempted to justify or excuse bigotry or violence coming from Palestinians or any other Arabs or Muslims. Why is that? Because it was 100% bullshit, that’s why. Because the allegation itself is usually enough to make liberals back off and go into a defensive crouch. That’s not gonna happen with me. Put up or shut up.

That is all. For now.

So sorry that telling the truth hurts your feelings.

So, how would you feel about a negative statement (any negative statement) about all Jews? That would be antisemitic, right? Why do you apply different standards here?

re: #25 _RememberTonyC

The answer is YES: Reagan did whine about Jimmy Carter, especially when the economy sucked during Reagan’s first term.

Knowing that would require understanding something about history from a whopping 30 years ago. It appears that’s not part of your skill set.
