That seems like a remarkably asinine thing for the judge to allow. The PTO is the entity that ruled against the team’s trademarks, and it is that ruling that the team should appeal.

Going after the people who raised the issue in the PTO is fundamentally irrelevant to the PTO’s decision.

Funny how the argument made by the team (“We are honoring the bravery of Native Americans by using the name ‘Redskins’ “) is just like the one the apologists for cat-calling are making (What’s wrong with complimenting a woman on her attractiveness?). If they really meant to honor the Native Americans or flatter women they would stop when asked to, as that would truly show respect.

When they instead persist in their unwanted attentions they show what selfish, insensitive oafs they are by maintaining that their supposed intent is more important than the feelings of the people they purportedly intend to flatter and honor.
