Is religion really the key here? Faith has proven a weak reed when pitted against desire.

STD’s are part of the natural world, just like, oh, say, cholera. In both cases, there are public health measures that could be taken to reduce risks, and there are things people can do in the private and personal sphere to reduce their risk.

Mark Twain was of the opinion that people just come in varieties on this score, and some are going to be novelty seekers when it comes to sexual partners, and others settle into domesticity. The first pool is just inevitably going to be at more risk than the second, but this doesn’t mean that the first pool is morally deficient across the board. [Though I don’t think it’s moral to convince the other partner that you’re in pool B if you know full well that yer gonna dump em shortly, like always]. For all I know, Bonnie and Clyde were the perfect picture of fidelity and domestic bliss.

loving how it’s the woman’s fault! “she may look clean, but underneath her veneer is a vagina just waiting to infect you”
