I hope the author is right because Cruz’s rank opportunism is toxic. Even if he flames out of the 2016 race, he’s still got what, another four years in the Senate? Four more years of his grandstanding, obstructionism & self-righteous smirk. *grimace*

I have watched Cruz since he entered the Senate. I realized early on that his goal was not to govern but to promote himself. He seems to think that since he’s always been told that he’s very smart, he can do whatever he wants to do. He’s learning a hard lesson in the Senate, and he’s learning it from his own colleagues. He was a big fish in a little pond in college, law school, and in TX, but at the national level, no one gives a sh*t about how smart he is. They know he’s a smug, disruptive, attention-seeking, immature *sshole. I think he might be on the road to getting the message that he’s an obnoxious *sshole that no one likes, especially after the way his own party members treated him yesterday when he decided he’d use his position in the Senate to make another campaign/fundraising video for his presidential campaign.

I don’t think he’s got a shot at the presidency, but he’ll be in the Senate as long as he wants to. Texas Republicans want to vote for an asshole, and I don’t think he’s going to get out-assholed anytime soon.

Can we just let Texas loose? I mean, withdraw all military bases like Fort Hood, pull all Federal funding, Highways, border spending, and be done with them? Secession might be about the best thing I’ve heard coming out of Texas lately thanks to Ted Cruz.
