re: #31 Blind Frog Belly White

Honestly, I worry less about big companies getting money that we may not feel they ‘deserve’ than I am about the GOP letting benefits dry up later this summer because they are afraid people won’t want to go back to work.

Matt Yglesias said last month that there are two things that could happen to the economy over the next year.

1) We rapidly regain 95% of where the economy was in January.

2) We’re mired in low growth and high unemployment.

Then he pointed out that these are the same scenario. 95% recovery leaves us as bad as the depths of the Great Recession, and even if - perhaps ESPECIALLY if - we take the WH and the Senate, the GOP will dig in its heels against doing anything fiscally to address it, same as 2009.

my guess is that if we take all three branches, the senate will simply kick the legs out from under “unanimous consent.” If it needs to get done, it can get done with 50 votes and the vice president.
