I find that the ethnicity stuff is mostly low on precision, especially at the nebulous levels of terms like “Hispanic”. I know only a few tests gives one metrics to evaluate precision. Some human populations with enforced marriage rules (like endogamy) probably give a higher precision.

The cousin matching is very powerful though, and through that one can find connections to all sorts of places.

Regarding being “white”, I notice that quite a few Americans with colonial American ancestry who, all things considered, think of them as “white” who get cousin matches to African Americans, which gives a rather direct view into our American history.

The Iberian peninsula was a merry mixture. The literal Iberians were probably Berber-speakers from across the Straits, but the main population of the Peninsula were Celts before the Romans took over. Then of course, the Visigoths. I’m ignoring the Carthaginians, because they never amounted to much populationwise.
