How the heck did hitting that one spot bring down so much of that bridge? I mean the upper most section? Why?

Hard to be sure, but you’ll note that it’s the through truss sections that collapsed. It probably hit the stress point just right to cause it to buckle. Apparently there was a construction crew doing work on the bridge at the time too. If the bridge wasn’t in good condition on top of the hit…
