Since it has been widely reported that Trump would lose in the Senate if they don’t take a roll-call vote, it seems to me that McConnell might be able to rig the vote requirements to suppress which Republican voted against Trump, which would result in Pence becoming president - and you can bet that Pence would issue a blanket pardon on Trump.
