Not really, we don’t perceive them as having “meaning”, i.e. we don’t think of “-sky” names as indicating possession or origin, we think of them as separate, um, blocks. Of course, etymologically you’re correct, but people don’t think etymologically. Just as I suppose when you hear “Ericson” you don’t automatically think “Eric’s son”, unless you want to make a joke or something.
