It’s the reason I am so, so hawkish against Saudi Arabia. I want the Salafists wrecked so badly they don’t come back.

Right now, the Shias in the Oil-Rich part of the nation are doing protests. I say, support them.

Here’s info about one of the most important dudes in the Shia Saudi community, Nimr al-Nimr.

I think we might be able to get them (The Saudi Shia) onto our side if we decided to break with the Saud family.

That would more likely draw in Iran, which has tried to insert its agents into the Shia in Saudi Arabia. It might also touch off full scale religious warfare in a place where we cannot afford large-scale disorder.
