It seems obvious that the ongoing attraction of such groups in Europe is due to the absence of a normative rightist/conservative movement. Once mainstream political rightism is outlawed (de jure or de facto) the rightly-inclined have nowhere to go but lunatic land.

But alot of that is due to the particularly foul history of Europe. European nations have already tried national self-defense / nationalism and it resulted in centuries of internecine bloodshed, antisemitic insanity and the Holocaust. If bloodshed and insanity resurge in today’s Europe the native Europeans can at least console themselves with the knowledge that they’re the ones perishing instead of another generation of victims of their kind and lovely civilization.

Europe has never proven itself sustainable or even morally justified. The continent has no strategic answer to the question of why it must exist.

Col. Ralph Peters’s view is that Europe is unalterably cruel and that US Marines will eventually be sent to evacuate fleeing European Muslims from their native European attackers. I suspect he is right — whether its the Muslims or the natives, one of the two groups will have to go down and out.
