It’d be easy to explain away Palin’s crazy comments and word salad as the work of someone who has had a few too much to drink or the result of medication.

But the sad fact is that this is probably how she is with no medication and no alcohol. She’s got so much word salad going that she can barely get out of her own way. Her speeches or speech patterns haven’t particularly changed since she was on the campaign trail in 2008.

This is who she is. Someone who is clueless about world events, plays the victim even as she’s victimizing others, and takes no responsibility for her own actions, like many right wingers do. In many respects, her words and deeds, are a fun-house mirror reflection of the right wing at large.

And it isn’t a pretty picture. It’s sad actually.
