I’m admitting an enormous privilege with the human race.

I’m a skier. A serious one. I’ve skied so much it’s all I think about. One winter I skied 137 days.

It’s the most fun. Time is suspended. Everything’s right. Maximum fun is being had. I experienced these thing skiing at Snowmass this weekend.

It’s a beautiful thing. It’s a privilege among the humans on Earth.

It’s an extraordinarily good stroke of luck…

I think this is probably where we understand each other the most.

I am a serious photographer. When I am standing there looking through the viewfinder, time is also suspended. There is nothing more enjoyable to me. When the image comes out _right_ the joy I feel is, seriously, better than sex.

When I look at the landscape and sky and see in my mind a certain _thing_ and then I manage to make a lens and either film or sensor capture that fancy? That is the moment that is a second of life I can not explain to anyone else. If you can not imagine stealing the instant when that shutter clicks? Then I can not give you any tomorrow. I am a time traveller; for a tiny moment I am The Doctor as I grab that infinitesimal moment in time when that place looked like that.
