One of those testifying against the bill was the state attorney general who fought in 1980 to keep such a law in place from the Twenties and lost. His position is it is discriminatory and the state will lose again.

Repubs hate wasteful spending…unless that spending nets them brownie points with their base, then they can’t burn the money fast enough.
