I gave up on digital cameras a few years for talking pictures of instruments because they alter the color too much. It’s very important for me to have accurate color. Have cameras gotten significantly better in the past few years?

I have one (Nikon D50) that’s about four years old. I’ve noticed the color problem also, but I use Photoshop CS to work with the pics and have discovered that the “Auto Color” image adjustment goes a long way toward correcting that.
