He needs to lose a few pounds yes, but the main reason is did not run is that he is not willing to go full Fischer/Norquist fundamentalist on key issues, so he knows he will never get the nomination.

I hate to say it but the country would be better off if these two Fischer/Norquist were ran out of the country.
