The xenophobia is completely fucking silly. It is so over the top that Japanese Americans have reported discrimination by the Mainland Japanese.

Aside from that, you also have a cripplingly low birthrate, which has been caused partially by the Population Density, but also the fact that Japan is still stunningly patriarchal. If you think Sexual Assault is bad here, it is worse there, and that is only scrapping the top.

If the US can fight off its xenophobia infection, the US could be set for the century. Because of the fact that the people promoting that are also promoting other idiocy, defeating it will lead to progress elsewhere.
