His manager’s actually a decent guy, been putting the kid through financial planning tutorials ever since his first million. And the mom’s not an idiot either. It would take a lot of heroin, a lot of willfully ignorant “investments”, or both, for that kid to ever end up broke.

I’m really glad to hear that. I suspect that is FAR from the norm in the music industry. You hear way too many stories of performers, athletes, others that make a huge amount of money very fast and very young becoming their own worst enemy in many ways. Of course, I can honestly say that if I was in the same situation when I was that age I’d be my own worst enemy. (Heck, if it were to happen today, the first thing I’d do is get a good lawyer and acct. to protect me from me.)
