The ending belies the title:

The system is currently rigged against Democrats. Even in 2016, there were more votes for Democrats in House elections than Republicans. Clinton won most of the votes. That doesn’t imply the party will slide into irrelevance.

If we take at least one of the chambers, Trump is largely neutralized and will be gone by 2021. If we lose ground in both, he gets a second term. A second Trump term is a good definition of “Die” for the Democrats and free America as a whole.
