This is why it’s so foolhardy to believe that even a major loss this year would change the GOP. Those who are #NeverTrump are every bit as horrid as he is, they’re just generally better about keeping it under their hats. When he loses in two weeks, the party will excommunicate him and all who fell with him, wipe their name from the records, and then insist from that day forward that the party is “cleansed” and they can move forward.

In other words, there is no believable path by which a party like the GOP, which is shit from top to bottom and from side to side, gets less shitty.
