Episodes I-III were a bit like Star Trek: Enterprise to a lot of fans, namely a great idea in theory, ruined by executive decisions. Mostly it has to do with the fact that the fans had already taken it upon themselves to try to “fill in the blanks,” then TPTB came in and said “Everything you knew is wrong, here’s what we say is ‘right.’”
