This is shaping up as a landslide for Hillary. Its going to be epic watching the GOP meltdown. The Red State link above was an interesting read. Would a high profile conservative like Cruz or Paul take the nomination of say, the Constitution Party to give conservatives an alternative?

That’s an interesting question my first reaction was no way. But, the more I think about both of their egos…maybe.

Cruz is in it for Cruz. All republicans dislike him now so what’s to lose? And Paul is just dopey. I do not see him having the career of his father, even as he lives off the name. That said, Paul is young and can run again (and again and again), so I don’t think he wants to burn, no, nuke those bridges just yet.

Cruz, OTOH, I think has a limited shelf life because he was swept in in the teabagger revolt and has been shown, on a national stage, to be…meh.

But, if Cruz or Paul go 3rd party and Hillary wins by vote splitting (which will be the narrative even if she wins 90% of the vote), that 3rd party run will kill any and all future aspirations.
