They’re human beings, and innocent children who deserve more dignity than that. Calling them anchor babies dehumanizes them solely because of the circumstances of their birth, and it’s offensive. A child shouldn’t be tarred like that because of something entirely out of their control.

BTW, if we really want to get technical, everyone in this country who isn’t Native American is descended from an anchor baby.

Like I said earlier, I had a girlfriend who would be considered an “anchor baby”. She’s cool, I’m glad she’s here. But there’s no doubt that there’s a certain gaming of the system going on.
