Hopefully his internal editor stopped him from sexually flirting with the 17 year old. Otherwise, he’s fucking toast. But if he knew she was a kid and she said something like, “I saw you at our school.” then chances are he simply entertained her with direct responses about mundane bullshit. But as I said above, if he did cross the line, then fuck him. This is one case where I suspect all communications will be made public without argument just to put the innuendo to rest.
