It should belong to Al Franken, an unabashed Policy Wonk with a the guts to take it to his political foes when needed.

Franken’s got the guts and brains. What he doesn’t have is the tact or experience. And do you really want another Dem leader in Congress who’s gonna be vulnerable when his seat comes up?

The GOP is smarter about this—their leaders in Congress tend to come from states like KY, MS, TN, etc., deep red states where they aren’t likely to face stiff reelection challenges.
